UPDATE: The mail server changeover has been delayed due to tecnical difficulties. These settings will take effect at a later date. Thank you for your patience.
In an effort to deal with increased spam issues and reliability issues, Hot Spot Broadband is moving to an email service. We are striving to provide our customers with the best, most reliable service available, and wish to eliminate the issues we had when our old mail server was replaced. Therefore, Aug 2 we will be setting up a new mail service. We will be doing this because the mail should propogate overnight, and Monday morning our full team will be available to address any issues that may crop up.
The new service will provide SSL connection for greater security and reduced spam. To change your settings, we have put up a new settings page with detailed settings for most email programs, whether you use Windows, Mac or a mobile phone for email access. Please see it at email settings.
This change necessitates an increase in password security. All passwords must be at least 6 characters in length, and cannot have 3 or more consecutive numbers.
IMPORTANT – these changes will not take effect until the afternoon of Sunday, Aug 2. Please do not change your settings until then.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Experience
the difference
The difference
of local service from a local company. We specialize in the delivery of
reliable high-speed Internet connections. Don't wait for the cable or
phone company to upgrade their systems, Hot Spot Broadband can have you
online sooner with connection speeds that are over 50 times faster than
dial-up.
Fixed Wireless
Hot
Spot Broadband is a fixed wireless provider, meaning we use a wireless antenna mounted to the exterior of your building to bring Internet service into your home or business wirelessly, then run into the home with network cable to a router or computer. This means there are no phone lines or cable needed from our network center, but cabling is needed in your home or business. Our most common antenna is the Motorola Canopy, and in a typical installation it looks similar to a satellite dish, and is not available for apartments.

One Network
Hot
Spot Broadband is one network that services residential users, large business,
small business and mobile users through publicly accessible Wi-Fi hot
spots. Additionally, Hot Spot Broadband has solutions for applications that require large
amounts of bandwidth (up to OC3 155Mbps) such as data centers, enterprise
business, or other ISPs. Hot Spot Broadband is a local company providing the Reno, Sparks, Carson
City and Carson Valley areas with the newest high-speed Internet service. |
